Join Us!
We are very proud of our history and continually endeavor to evolve in an effort to better serve our member companies. An important part of that evolution includes new companies joining our organization and bringing with them new ideas. Membership in RDA/SE offers opportunities for dance companies to work, learn and grow. Companies network together with new teachers and experience new aspects of the art of dance. Our membership procedures and criteria are described in the downloadable document. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact our membership chair! "Regional Dance America has been in my blood since I was twelve years old when I attended the first Mid States Festival. I believe that much of my success becoming a nationally known choreographer stemmed from my association with RDA. Having adjudicated all five regions, attended five Choreography Conferences, taught or danced in dozens of festivals, and having been a National Adjudicator in 2017 Phoenix and 2012 Montreal, I cherish and appreciate the breaks that RDA has given me. My 20+ years' experience of running and creating Charleston Ballet Theatre with Lifetime SERBA Members Don & Patricia Cantwell , a professional ballet company in Charleston South Carolina, had its start as an honor company in the Southeast Region. The company, which I served as it's Resident Choreographer, grew into a company (with a budget 1.2 million) with 18 dancers on 32-week contract-dancing the works of George Balanchine, Jose Limon, David Parsons and Twyla Tharp. As I simultaneously worked with this company, I continued to create choreographic commissions for major dance companies including, Joffrey Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, Boston Ballet, North Carolina Dance Theatre, Nevada Ballet Theatre and Alabama Ballet. The unparalleled involvement with SERBA and the National Organization RDA gave me the indispensable tools to mature into the choreographer/teacher I have become. I am confident that RDA was an integral factor that led to so many of my ballerina/choreographer dreams." JILL EATHORNE BAHR, RDA Adjudicator
